My cost:  $4.83 plus additional cost for rice, noodles or lettuce cups.  I already had Cajun seasoning.

Ingredients:

1 lb 96% or 97% ground turkey

2 lb white mushrooms, sliced

1 cup brown gravy

½ tsp Cajun seasoning

1 gallon freezer bag

1 quart size freezer bag

Instructions:

  1. In gallon freezer bag, add ground turkey, sliced mushrooms and Cajun seasoning
  2. In quart size freezer bag, add gravy – seal and place inside gallon bag with turkey and mushrooms
  3. Freeze for up to 2 months
  4. Cooking: place in crock pot frozen or thaw overnight.  Place turkey and mushrooms in crock pot then pour gravy on top.
  5. Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours, break up turkey into small pieces
  6. Serve over noodles, rice or in lettuce cups

This recipe is a family favorite.  Simple enough for my kids to cook and not make a total mess out of the kitchen.  We especially like that we can serve it many different ways.
