It has been a total of three whole weeks since I have stepped foot into a store, other than the drive thru for numerous prescriptions for my little one being sick. Good thing I have a stockpile!
The thought crossed my mind that I am becoming a SHOPAHOLIC! Literally, it was an internal thought, and the more I thought about it, the more it seemed true. At this point, the wheels were turning and I made a conscience decision to stay away from the stores. You know to cut the habit “Cold Turkey”!
Well, it was easier than I expected, NO REHAB FOR ME! My DH did think I was “loopy” asking him to go to the store to buy two gallons of milk each week, but the lovely man he is, never questioned my requests. By the way, I never admitted this to him, or had any kind of discussion about this. Which is totally unlike me, but I need to know this for myself, before trying to explain to someone else.
On Tuesday night, I ventured out to Kroger, to get a few freebies before the sale ended.
Right then and there, as soon as I step foot into that produce/flower smelling, shinny floored store, I knew that what I loved about shopping was the thrill of the game and how much money I could save my family! Not just the shopping part! If I am a coupon addict, then I am happily content to be. I have tested myself (truly, without help) and come out the other side happy to have the knowledge of how to save money using coupons.
P.S. I will update my $100 Challenge for the 6 gallons of milk purchased over the three week period.
6 gallons of milk at $2.49 each = $14.94 cash
$60.34 left in $100 challenge budget
$60.34 – $14.94 = $45.40 cash
