Limes, Limes and More Limes!

We went to a visit friends over the weekend and they have a lime tree in the back yard that cross pollinated with the lemon tree by it’s side.

The results are these humungous limes! They are the size of large lemons. Very juicy and flavorful! Well, the kids were so very happy to be picking the limes that they picked almost everything on the small tree. There was a wagon full of large limes. We took a bag of limes and have shared with friends and family.

Tonight, I used just one lime to flavor the corn that I cut off the cob. Sprinkled with salt, pepper, paprika and garlic it was amazing! All I needed was some queso fresco to top it off.

The kids had a great time picking the limes, so if you need to have trees stripped of fruit, just call me and I will bring the kiddos over to do the job. They were happy to do the work and I am very happy to have the limes. I will be juicing the limes that we will not use and sticking the juice in the freezer for later use.
