Check out all the details:
WHO / WHAT: Each year in the United States on average 5 to 20 percent of the population gets the flu; more than 200,000 individuals are hospitalized from flu-related complications; and about 36,000 people die from flu-related causes.
In its commitment to promote health and wellness, Kroger is helping to protect Houston-area families from the virus by hosting free flu shot clinics. The shots will be administered to those 7 years of age and older. No prescription is required and shots will be given while supplies last.
Following the widespread emergence of the H1N1 influenza virus during the 2009-2010 flu season, this year’s seasonal flu vaccine now offers protection against three strains including H1N1, H3N2 and influenza B virus. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a flu shot can reduce the chance of becoming infected by 70 percent.
