“Marvel’s The Avengers” Land at Target
Partnership with Marvel brings Super Hero merchandise to Target stores
MINNEAPOLIS (May 04, 2012) —
Target® Corp. (NYSE:TGT) has partnered with Marvel Entertainment, LLC to bring merchandise from “Marvel’s The Avengers” to its guests, allowing fans across the country to gear up for the theatrical release on May 4, 2012.
Target is now offering an assortment of “Marvel’s The Avengers”-themed toys, clothing, bedding and a selection of Marvel Super Hero movies in stores and online at Target.com/Avengers. Toys include Captain America’s Blast Shield, Thor’s Thunder Hammer and Lego® sets featuring favorite characters and movie scenes. There will also be themed t-shirts, backpacks, shoes, sheets, pillows and throws. Target also will stock shelves with Marvel Super Hero films: “Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2,” “Captain America,” “Thor,” “The Incredible Hulk” and several other animated features.
“Target has been taken over by an all-star team of ‘Avengers’ Super Heroes,” said Casey Carl, Target’s senior vice president. “We’re excited to offer fun movie-themed merchandise at great prices to fans across the country.”
Store Marketing Experience
Mixing action and entertainment with shopping, Target is featuring an in-store marketing experience where guests can follow the Hulk’s massive, tile-crushing footprints down the aisles or look up as he comes “crashing” through the ceiling. And, in the spirit of the movie, Target’s commercial for its “Marvel’s The Avengers” promotion features four children who are transformed into Super Heroes during a trip to Target.
