DIY Get Well Gift Basket

This is a super easy and awesome gift idea!  My oldest daughter had a friend who had knee surgery and she wanted to make her something special and give her a few things to keep her occupied while she is recovering.  This small gesture put a smile on her friend’s face.

We went to the store to buy a few supplies.  We picked up a variety of candies, a puzzle, a fun coloring book, colored markers, a clear bowl, pink shredded paper, a bow and a Get Well balloon.  We even got a couple of Pin wheels that would keep anyone busy for a a minute or two.

We gathered the larger items to place in the bowl first.  This will give us a kind of background to place all the other goodies in front.  By starting with the larger items in the back, as a base, then all of the goodies can be seen in the finished basket.

We started by filling the bowl with the shredded paper then put then place the coloring book , markers and puzzle towards the back of the bowl.    Adding the candies and pencils to make the bowl look full.

Then we started adding each candy one at a time to see how we wanted to place everything.  We started with the larger candies first and finished with the smaller ones.

The pin wheels were added as well as a cute bow.

The get well balloon was added and a thoughtful card was attached.

We wrapped the whole bowl in clear cellophane and delivered the gift the her sweet friend.

This project took about 30 to 40 minutes.  That is including the time to shop for the items.

This gift basket idea has endless possibilities. Just decide on who you are giving the basket to and think about what the person will like or could use.  Arrange the items, add a bow or other decoration and you are done.

Being thoughtful and kind can make such a difference to someone in ways that we can not even imagine.
