Frugal Cleaning Options

Welcome Houston Life Viewers!  It is such a pleasure to be on the show and share money saving tips!

Spring is in the air!  And so is all that pollen!   With that in mind, there is no reason to head to the store to buy lots of new cleaning products.  You probably already have these handy items in your house.

So, save yourself some money this Spring and give these homemade cleaners a try.

1.  Stain Remover

Option 1:  Small bits of soap – use the ends of bars or the hotel soaps are perfect for this stain remover.

Start filling a jar with the bits then when you get half full pour boiling water in the jar and shake.  The mixture will be “jelly like”.  Pre treat your stains with a small amount of product.  Always test on a small piece of fabric.

Option 2:  Combine ½ cup of water, ¼ cup baking soda and ¼ cup hydrogen peroxide in a small bowl.  Use immediately on stains.  Throw out leftovers and make a new stain remover when needed. Always test on a small piece of fabric.

Option 3:  Use Hydrogen Peroxide on fabric when your little ones skin their knees and get blod on their clothes.
